The City of Detroit has successfully installed the first of five new Gateway signs, just ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. The sign is intended to create a warm welcome for visitors and residents attending the highly anticipated event, estimated to attract hundreds of thousands of people.

The sign is located on the eastbound side of I-94, between Central Street and Cecil Ave. It was made by Fairmount Sign Company, with each letter measuring 8 feet tall and mounted on concrete blocks that are 2 feet high.

Additionally, Fairmount produced smaller signs for several other locations, including I-75 at 8 Mile, I-96 at Telegraph, I-94 at Moross, Southfield at 8 Mile, and Southfield at Ford Rd.
