The 30th
Annual
Metro
Detroit
Youth
Day
brought
in
thousands
of
children
for
another
successful
year. On
July 11,
2012 the
Belle
Isle
Athletic
Field
was
filled
with
contest,
entertainment,
free
sport
clinics
and
workshops
for
metro
Detroit
youth.
Ed Deebs

of the
event
welcomed
all of
the
children
and
honored
some
special
invited
guest.
Youth

the ages
of 8-15

at the
largest
youth
event in
Michigan.
Over the
years
this
event
has
grown
tremendously
and
brought
in over
35,000
children.
Metro
Detroiters
along
with
leaders

Deeb are
supporting
the city
and
starting
with the
youth
whom
need our
help the
most.
Sports

Plenty of activities for
youngsters to engage in at one of the summer's highlight
events, The Metro Detroit Youth Day held Wednesday July 11,

“Parents
you have
to
realize
your
role,
and you
have to
go out
there
and
represent
Detroit
well”
said
Rick
Mahorn
to the
parents
of Metro
Detroit
Youth
Day
As the
day
filled
kids
with
excitement,
it was
also a
day
filled
with
education,
and
motivation.
One of
the
features
to help
educate
kids was
college
row.
Selected
Michigan
colleges
made an
appearance
to
present
information
to
children
and
parents
about
higher
education.
Over 81
scholarships
were
awarded
to high
school
graduating
seniors.
“ No
longer
is it
just fun
and
games.
Students
and
volunteers
will
have the
opportunity
to visit
the
“College
Row”
area to
learn
more
about
these
colleges
and
universities.”
