TICKETS TO 2008 DETROIT BELLE ISLE GRAND PRIX NOW
AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
DETROIT
– Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix ticketholders will
benefit from a marked increase in entertainment value
both on and off the track in 2008 as they continue to
enjoy one of the best values in all of sports.
Tickets to the three-day August 29-31, 2008 Labor Day
weekend celebration at the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix
are now on sale. Once again featuring the high-tech cars
of the American Le Mans Series and the high-speed stars
of the IndyCar Series, the Grand Prix features many
family-friendly and affordable ticket options, in
addition to packages aimed to please the most passionate
racing fan.
The 2007 return of world-class auto racing to the Motor
City provided edge-of-the-seat excitement. But enhanced
competition on the racetrack coupled with more
entertainment options around the picturesque Raceway at
Belle Isle Park circuit and increased fan comfort
features, make the Grand Prix an even hotter ticket in
2008.
“We
had a wonderful event last summer with over 100,000 fans
flocking to Belle Isle over Labor Day weekend, but we
wanted to create an even better experience for our
fans,” said Bud Denker, Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix
Event Chairman. “We’re going to raise the bar higher
with great racing from the newly-unified IndyCar Series
and an even deeper, more competitive American Le Mans
Series field in 2008. We’ll be making some very exciting
announcements in the coming weeks on live musical
entertainment performing at the Grand Prix this year.
We’re offering special discounts for children and unique
weekend packages to make the event even more affordable
and accessible for both families and die-hard racing
enthusiasts. We’ve also widened all grandstand seats to
provide more comfort for the fans and we’ll have
improved transportation service on and off the island.”
The Grand Prix once again delivers incredible value for
the entertainment dollar with tickets, on average,
remaining virtually the same as they were over a decade
ago for world-class auto racing in Detroit. Keeping with
a Grand Prix tradition in Detroit, Friday will once
again be Free Prix Day, where everyone will be admitted
free of charge.
Designed for fans looking for a weekend full of access
and excitement, Grand Prix “Super Tickets” return in
2008. Each “Super Ticket” includes a three-day reserved
seat in the top two rows of Grandstand 1 for prime
viewing of the on-track action, combined with a
three-day paddock pass for unique access to the
competitor garage areas. “Super Tickets” are priced at
$155 each or fans can choose to purchase a two-day
reserved grandstand seat in the upper rows for just $110
each. Paddock pass prices have been reduced this year,
with a three-day paddock pass now just $50 for an adult
and $25 for children 12 and under and single-day passes
priced at $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and
under on Saturday and Sunday.
Single-day reserved grandstand tickets on Saturday or
Sunday are $45 each in the lower rows and $65 in the
upper rows. The unique Front Row Club offers reserved
platform seating in the front row of a grandstand with a
paddock pass, a race program and a Grand Prix hat for
just $75 per ticket on Saturday or Sunday.

Every reserved grandstand ticket holder will once again
receive a special commemorative ticket.

available, featuring a reserved grandstand seat, paddock
pass, a program and a hat as well as access to premiere
food and beverage service at the Motor City Club chalet.

Prix with a single-day ticket costing just $25. Two-day
general admission tickets are priced at just $45 each.
The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix continues its
family-friendly focus in 2008 by offering reduced
tickets for children 12-and-younger. Ticket prices for
children are reduced by at least $10 at every reserved
grandstand price point. Children 12-and-younger are also
admitted free in the general admission areas when
accompanied by a ticket-bearing adult.

are at the top of the grandstands.

true Detroit treasure – Belle Isle Park. The Detroit
Belle Isle Grand Prix is being organized and promoted by
a subsidiary of the Downtown Detroit Partnership, whose
chairman is Roger Penske. This charitable organization
has been established to enable the net proceeds of the
Grand Prix to fund measures to preserve and improve
Belle Isle.
The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix is a signature
event in what’s expected to be one of the most exciting
