Tell Us Detroit picks Rick Snyder best choice as Governor of Michigan for the next 4 years

DETROIT (Tell Us Det) - Our editorial committee has picked Snyder as the best choice for governor in 2014 because of the success in his first term in office. Bringing the skills from the CEO of a major company and a corporate turnaround specialist he has used his first four years in office to fix many of Michigan's governmental problems along with solving issues that have plagued our local municipalities for decades.

In the earlier years prior to Snyder’s' arrival as governor, the State of Michigan was losing population and unemployment was running at one of the highest rates in the nation. but with Snyder at the helm, unemployment is down from its August 2009 peak of 14.2 percent to 7.2 percent this September, the lowest since the spring of 2008.

Governor Snyder tackled major tasks which, included a rewrite and simplification of the business tax and a shift to tax retiree pensions. He even created the path to take Detroit into bankruptcy to address issues that had held the city back for over 40 years.

Despite what his critics say, Gov. Rick Snyder is investing in higher education, giving more students the chance to attend one of many great colleges in the state. He is also giving parents new options for their children like flexible dual enrollments for high-achieving students and greater alternatives for kids who were stuck in struggling schools. He has proven, that with proper management, Detroit public schools are now getting better.

With all kinds of issues on the table, like bankruptcy in Detroit, the emergency manager law, right-to-work legislation, taxing retirement pensions, Snyder has shown a credible plan for the state's future, and a proven track record of success.

Rick Snyder is better prepared for the challenges ahead. That is why TellUsDetroit.Com has endorsed him to return as Michigan governor.
