U.S.
Rep.
Brenda
L.
Lawrence
of
Michigan's
14th
Congressional
District
applauded
President
Barack
Obama’s
annual
State of
the
Union
address,
which
was
delivered
this
evening
before a
joint
session
of the
House
and
Senate:
“I
enthusiastically
support
President
Obama’s
proposal
that
will
secure
additional
revenue
from our
nation’s
wealthiest
Americans
while
rewarding
working
families
with a
well-deserved
tax
cut,”
Rep.
Lawrence
stated.
“A
strong
middle
class
helps
our
economy
toward
continued
growth.
Let’s
build on
the
progress
we’ve
made.”
“I was
elected
to
propose
and
support
policies
to
strengthen
Greater
Detroit,”
Rep.
Lawrence
continued.
“President
Obama’s
State of
the
Union
message
was
thoughtful
and on
point.
Let’s
put
working
families
first by
supporting
the
President’s
plan to
make
community
college
affordable;
creating
a
simpler,
fairer
tax
code;
and
offering
paid
sick
leave to
families.
I am
extremely
excited
about
the
American
Technical
Training
Fund
proposed
by the
President.
This
initiative
is one
that I
campaigned
on. I
look
with
great
anticipation
and hope
that it
will be
implemented.”
