SERVE UP FAMILY FUN AS FIFTH THIRD BANK PRESENTS
THE PARADE BEFORE THE PARADE
Registration open for the 26th Annual Turkey Trot, 6th Annual Mashed Potato Mile & 3rd Annual Stuffing Strut

DETROIT The Parade Company is once again serving up a hearty helping of holiday activities and family fun with three beloved events: the 26th Annual Fifth Third Turkey Trot, 6th Annual Mashed Potato Mile and 3rd Annual Stuffing Strut. This parade before the parade, presented by Fifth Third Bank, allows participants to fuel up for Americas Thanksgiving Parade.

The festivities begin Thursday, November 27 with the Mashed Potato Mile starting at 7:30 a.m. The Mashed Potato Mile is a one-mile walk/run that allows participants of all ages to enjoy the same magic that more than 10,000 runners experience at the annual Turkey Trot. Turkey Trotters are invited to use the Mashed Potato Mile as a warm-up before their main course.

We at Fifth Third Bank are delighted, for the seventh year, to show our support for Americas Thanksgiving Parade with these outstanding community events, said Jack Riley, Vice President and Marketing Director. The experience gets better each year.

Following the Mashed Potato Mile is the 26th Annual Turkey Trot and 3rd Annual Stuffing Strut. The Turkey Trot and Stuffing Strut both begin at 8:00 a.m. The Turkey Trot is one of Michigans largest 10K run, while the Stuffing Strut is a 5K run. Both routes will start and finish at Cobo Center on Washington Boulevard in downtown Detroit.

The runners who dress-up and participate in the Turkey Trot will be judged by local celebrity personalities on the creativity of their costumes. To rent a costume from The Parade Company, call 313.432.7835. Judging will take place before the race at 7:15 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the runners with the most creative costume.

Entries received before Saturday, November 22nd are $10 for the Mashed Potato Mile and $30 for the Turkey Trot and Stuffing Strut each. Entries received November 22nd through race day remain $10 for the Mashed Potato Mile, but increase to $35 for the Turkey Trot and Stuffing Strut each. Registrations are accepted on race day at Cobo Center for the Mashed Potato Mile, Stuffing Strut and Turkey Trot. Participants can register online by visiting www.theparade.org or by calling the Turkey Trot Hotline at 313.247.4149.
