The Parade Co. prepares to dazzle during Ford Fireworks Monday June 27

58th Annual Fireworks Display to Illuminate the Detroit River Skyline with More Fireworks than Ever Before

DETROIT - The Ford Fireworks (#fordfireworks2016) will light up the Detroit skyline on Monday, June 27 at 9:48 p.m. with picturesque views visible in downtown Detroit and beyond. Recognized as one of the world’s largest and most magnificent fireworks displays, this popular annual event produced by The Parade Company is a beloved tradition of the city, enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of spectators each year.

As producers of The Ford Fireworks, The Parade Company has hand-selected the musical arrangement that Zambelli Fireworks Internationale will stage along the Detroit River. It will be choreographed again by the world-renowned Patrick Brault who has years of experience designing pyrotechnic displays including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

New this year, the 2016 Ford Fireworks will feature:
• More fireworks than ever before with more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects which will be visible for miles along the Detroit River
• New ghost shell fireworks, in which the firework shell opens in black with sudden color explosions in circular shapes
• More Dahlia fireworks and choreographed color schemes to match the music selection and theme, “Go Forward Detroit,” a salute to the progress of Detroit and bright future of our city

“The Parade Company is thrilled to bring our community the biggest Ford Fireworks they’ve ever experienced and one of the most spectacular fireworks shows in the nation," said Tony Michaels, president & CEO of The Parade Company. “Thanks to the incredible support of Ford Motor Company, the Ford Fireworks has become the jewel of the summer and a tradition we’ve celebrated together as a region for 58 years. The show is themed 'Go Forward Detroit’ to salute the progress of Detroit and bright future of our city.”

Also new this year, Ford Motor Company will offer free admission to Belle Isle for the first 1,000 vehicles on the night of the Ford Fireworks, Monday, June 27, by providing the DNR Recreation Passports. This pass may be used at all participating Michigan State Parks for the remainder of 2016.

As one of The Parade Company’s largest and most popular fundraisers of the year, The Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party offers the best seats in the city to view the fireworks. Guests attending the event will experience live music by Detroit’s own Fifty Amp Fuse, food by Andiamo, games, giveaways and more for adults and kids alike. Guests will also enjoy a front row seat to the finals of Local 4’s annual Super Singer competition. Four semi-finalist singers chosen from hundreds of video auditions including Cherri Black of Redford, Byron Cancelmo of West Bloomfield, Grace Lee of Rochester and Brianna Seaborn of Detroit. The competition will be judged by “The Voice” finalist Laith Al-Saadi, Motown Museum CEO Robin Terry and Local 4’s “Live in the D” hosts Chuck Gaidica and Tati Amare.
