(ACT-SO)
along
with the
Detroit
NAACP
Youth
Council,
Corporate
Sponsors,
Civic
Leaders,
Elected
Officials,
Entrepreneur’s
and Avid
Golfers,
participated
in the
16th
Annual
Detroit
NAACP
“Come to
Tee”
Golf
Outing
at Twin
Lakes
Golf
Club!
Designed
to
recruit,
stimulate,
improve
and
encourage
high
academic
&
cultural
achievement
among
African-American
high
school
students,
the
ACT-SO
program
encourages
community
volunteers
and
business
leaders
alike,
to serve
as
mentors
and
coaches
in this
effort.

and
Executive
Director
Donnell
White
along
with
this
year’s
co-chairs
Willie
Hampton
&
Michael
Turner
expressed
extreme
excitement
at the
outpouring
of
support
as the
organization
continues
its
Centennial
celebration.
“Despite
the
tough
economic
times,”
says
Donnell,
“so many
Metro
Detroiters
continue
to
support
our
young
people
in there
efforts
on high
academic
achievement
and we
couldn’t
be
happier!
That’s
what
this
annual
event
has been
about,
for the
past 16
years.”
