deliver
toe-tapping
music
and fun
for kids
Memorial
Day
Weekend
ORCHARD
LAKE, MI
– St.
Mary’s
Polish
Country
Fair
will
host an
award-winning
line-up
of local
musical
acts on
Memorial
Day
Weekend,
May
25-28,
2012.
Now in
its 41st
year,
the
nation’s
largest
high
school
country
Fair
will
showcase
sounds
from
nearly
every
musical
genre.
All
performances
all FREE
of
charge.
St.
Mary’s
kicks
off the
weekend
in a
jazzy
fashion
on
Friday,
May 25
with
performances
by the
Orchard
Lake St.
Mary’s
Jazz
Ensemble
and The
Night
Hawks
Jazz
Orchestra.
The
Polish
Muslims,
whose
sound
has been
described
as
“combining
all of
your
favorite
styles
of pop
music
('60s
rock,
polka,
alternative,
et
cetera)
with a
touch of
tongue
in cheek
humor”
will
help
patrons
celebrate
the
festival’s
Polish
heritage
with its
light-hearted,
family-friendly
attitude
that
evening
as well.
Well-known
acts
also
taking
to the
Fair
stage on
the
grounds
of St.
Mary’s
in
Orchard
Lake
during
the
weekend
will
include
the Rock
n’
Blues/Funk
group
the
Howling
Diablos.
The
Howling
Diablos
recently
received
five
awards
at the
21st
annual
Detroit
Music
Awards.
The
musical
group
was
honored
in
categories
including
Outstanding
Video /
Independent
Budget
(Under
$10,000)
for
their
song
“Mr.
Right
Now,”
and
named
Outstanding
Urban/Funk
Artist/Group
of the
year.
Sunday
and
Monday
include
headliner
performances
by the
ultimate
retro
band the
Mega
80’s and
the
Persuasion
Band,
one of
the most
high-energy
bands in
the
Midwest.
