Over
13,000
apply
for
summer
jobs at
Quicken
Loans in
Detroit
DETROIT
- Who
says
mortgages
aren’t
exciting?
For the
second
year in
a row,
Quicken
Loans
has
announced
plans to
hire
more
than
1,000
paid
summer
interns
in the
heart of
Detroit.
The
result:
more
than
13,000
resumes
have
already
come
pouring
in from
all
corners
of the
country,
including
Ivy
League
schools,
from
students
looking
for
their
chance
at a
world
class
experience
in a
city
reinventing
itself
into a
world
class
technology
hub.
Applications
are
still
being
accepted
and more
are
coming
in each
day.
Even
more
impressive
is that
the
internships
have not
been
promoted
and most
of the
applicants
have
learned
of the
opportunity
through
word of
mouth
referrals.
Quicken
Loans,
the
nation’s
largest
online
mortgage
lender
and
major
Detroit
booster,
created
the
program
to help
expose
the city
known as
Motown
to
millennials
all
across
the
country.
An
internship
at
Quicken
Loans,
the
fifth
best
place to
work in
America
in 2014,
provides
access
to the
following
opportunities:
•
REAL
professional
development
- It’s
not the
stereotypical
internship
often
associated
with
making
coffee
and
filing
paperwork.
The
culture
and
organizational
structure
of
Quicken
Loans
puts its
interns
on the
same
level as
any
other
team
member,
leading
to a
robust,
hands-on
experience.
• 999
new
friends
– Last
year
Quicken
Loans
had 168
colleges
and
universities
represented
in its
summer
intern
group,
providing
a chance
to
connect
both
professionally
and
socially.
• A
work
environment
unlike
any
other
– From
slushee
machines
on every
floor,
to ping
pong and
arcade
games
lining
the
office,
the
culture
at
Quicken
Loans is
a
refreshing
change
from the
norm.
Team
members
are
encouraged
to have
fun
while at
work,
allowing
them to
innovate
and
think
creatively
without
being
shackled
by
corporate
bureaucracy.
•
Detroit’s
gems
– From
tours of
the city
and the
Detroit
Institute
of Arts
to
catching
a Tigers
game at
Comerica
Park, a
multitude
of
intern-only
events
are
offered
throughout
the
summer.
Interns
will
also be
able to
walk to
Campus
Martius
Park at
lunch
and
enjoy
live
concerts
and
performances
throughout
the
summer.
