“Occupy
Detroit
does
have a
Voice in
the
Media”

DETROIT
- Just
in case
you did
not
know,
Sunday,
November
6, 2011
at 2:00
pm,
Occupy
Detroit
along
with
many
unions
together
marched
down
Woodward
Ave.
from
Hart
Plaza to
the camp
ground
in Grand
Circus
Park to
show
solidarity
in our
communities
of the
continuing
massive
loss of
jobs and
to
demand
that the
politicians
remember
they
work for
the
people.
The
reason
I’m
writing
this
blog is
to
introduce
you to
the one
media
outlet
that has
been
right
there
with the
photos,
videos,
interviews,
and
stories
since
the
Occupy
Detroit
Movement
began.
The
outlet
I’m
talking
about is
TellUsDetroit.com,
which is
an on
line
publication.
I first
became
acquainted
with
TellUsDetroit.com
when I
had an
on line
travel
business
and
wanted
the
Publisher/Editor
in-Chief
to be
one of
my
customers.
That did
not work
out, but
I
continued
to read
the
news,
features
and
stories
that
this
publication
brought
to the
people.
Then in
2008
when
Mayor
Kwame
Kilpatrick
fiasco
was just
beginning,
Detroit
for the
first
time was
going to
be the
host of
the
NCAA’s
Sweet
Sixteen
and
Elite
Eight
games.
Someone
had
posted
in
TellUsDetroit.com
that
they
thought
no one
would
come to
Detroit
because
of the
beginning
scandal.
I
rebutted
by
advising
that my
nephew
and I
did not
see that
when we
attended
the
Sweet
Sixteen
game
that
Friday
and were
definitely
excited
about
going to
the
Elite
Eight
game.
By
seeing
my
remarks,
Mr.
Harold
B.
Meeks,
the
Publisher/Editor
in-Chief,
asked me
to write
in my
own
words
what I
was
seeing
in the
reaction
of the
out of
town
visitors
as well
as the
residents
and our
suburban
neighbors.
I had a
deadline,
which I
met and
it was
published.
Mayor
Kilpatrick’s
mess did
not stop
the
show!
TellUsDetroit.com
hits
hard on
the
issues
wanting
to know
all
sides in
our
communities
and the
world.
They
have
offices
in New
York,
Washington,
D.C.,
Miami,
Chicago,
Atlanta,
and Los
Angeles.
TellUsDetroit.com
was
there on
Sunday,
November
6, 2011
and you
can read
their
stories
on
www.TellUsDetroit.com.
