Gunman kills security guard at eastside dialysis center in Detroit

DETROIT (Tell Us Det) - An unknown suspect killed a security guard who was working Wednesday at Great Lakes Dialysis, LLC located on Kercheval and Philip streets on Detroit's east side.

The shooting happened around 7:00 a.m. in one of the city's most dangerous and lawless areas where street lights do not work and police don't patrol.

The manager of Great Lakes Dialysis Center said the victim was a security guard for the center and that the shooting involved an attempted robbery in the center’s parking lot.

Police say for now the identity of the victim is being withheld.

Workers at the business describe him as a reliable worker, and a gentleman known to open the door with a smile for co-workers as they arrived for the day.

Detroit Police say no one is in custody for the murder. They are investigating the motive.
