Bashara's
lawyer
holds
press
conference,
expects
charges
soon
against
acquaintance

Bob
Bashara's
attorney,
David
Griem
spoke to
the
media
Friday
morning
from his
office
at the
Guardian
Building
on
Griswold
St. in
Detroit.
His
client,
Bob
Bashara
has been
named
the key
person
of
interest
in the
murder
of his
wife
Jane
Bashara
by the
Grosse
Pointe
Park, MI
police.
David
Griem
said at
the news
conference
that the
acquaintance,
Joseph
Gentz,
has
reportedly
told
several
different
versions
of what
happened
and has
implicated
himself
in the
killing
as well.
Griem
disputes
Gentz's
reported
statements
to
police
that he
was paid
to help
kill
Jane
Bashara.
When
asked
where he
stood in
regards
to
charges
against
his
client
Griem
replied,
"I hope
that
there
will be
no
charges
coming
against
my
client."
Griem
also
said,
"The
interesting
question
is to be
asked
today is
to be
asked of
Grosse
Pointe
Park
Police
Department..
What do
we do
with
Joe? I
think
they’re
in a
tenuous
position
of what
to do."

have
told

that 48
year-old
Joe
Gentz,
the man
who says
he was
paid to
kill
Jane
Bashara,
has been
released
from the
Grosse
Pointe
Park
Police
Department
late
this
afternoon.
Joe had
been in
police
custody
since
walking
into the
Police
Department
and
admitting
he was
involved
in Jane
Bashara's
murder.
He
walked
into the
Grosse
Pointe
Park
Police
Department
Tuesday
afternoon.
Grosse
Pointe
Park
Chief of
Police
David A.
Hiller
released
a
statement
late
Friday
regarding
the Jane
Bashara
case
saying,
"Our job
as
investigators
is to
prove
facts
beyond a
reasonable
doubt.
In doing
so we
must
conduct
a
through
and
complete
investigation."
"As a
result
we are
not
going to
answer
any
specific
questions
regarding
the
ongoing
investigation.
I

and ask
anyone
with
information
regarding
this
case to

Grosse
Pointe
Park
Police
Department
at

the
Chief
said.
This
week,
Joe has
been
telling
police
he was
there
for
Jane's
murder,
but
sources
have
confirmed
his
story
has
changed
on
several
occasions.
Asked
about
the
prospect
of
Bashara
being
charged,
Griem
said, "I
hope
that
there
will be
no
charges
coming
against
my
client."
He said
he
highly
respects
Wayne
County
Prosecutor
Kym
Worthy
and
praised
her for
not
jumping
to file
charges.
The
Wayne
County
Prosecutor's
Office
has no
news to
announce
regarding
the
ongoing
police
investigation
into the
homicide
of
Grosse
Pointe
Park
resident
Jane
Bashara.
A
warrant
request
has not
been
presented
in this
matter
and
police
are
continuing
their
investigating.
Jane
Bashara's
body was
found
Jan. 25
in the
rear
seat of
her
luxury
Mercedes-Benz
sport
utility
vehicle
in a
Detroit
alley,
about
six
miles
from the
couple's
home in
affluent
Grosse
Pointe
Park.
