A native
of
Detroit,
Jones
has more
than 30
years of
experience
as a
psychotherapist
and
relationship
coach
and is
the
founder
of
Matthew
Jones &
Associates.
Through
his
practice,
this
educator,
motivator,
and
mentor
has
counseled
hundreds
of
individuals
and
couples.
An
accomplished
author,
Jones
has
published
two
books:
Will the
Real
Black
Men
Please
Stand Up
(1998)
and
Raising
Boys to
Become
Responsible
Men
(2006).
He’s
also
written
several
articles
for
Michigan
newspapers
and
released
a CD
entitled
Boys
Turning
Thirteen,
A Guide
for
Emotional
Growth
(2004).
His
latest
project
is a
revolutionary
DVD-book,
which
focuses

continued
health
and
growth
of
lasting
relationships
and
healthy
families.
The

the
Author
Matthew
D. Jones
Jr.
received
his
Bachelor’s
in
Counseling
from
Wayne
State
University
in 1976
and his
Masters
in
Social
Work
from the
University
of
Michigan
in 1980.
He is a
member
of the
Academy
of
Certified
Social
Workers,
the
National
Association
of
Social
Workers,
the
National
Association
of Black
Social
Workers,
and he
serves
as a
mentor
with Big
Brothers,
Big
Sisters
of
America.
