Here's
an
opportunity
for
Metro
Detroit's
young
performing
artists
to get
recognize
by
industry
professionals
and
acquire
preliminary
major
recognition
for
their
name.
Detroit's
Got
Talent
youth
showcase
auditions
kicked
off
today at
Wayne
State
University,
and for
young
aspiring
artist
they
seemed
to be
hungry
for the
rare
opportunity.
Brought
to you
by
Special
Touch
Leaning
Center
Inc.,
Founder,
Wanda
Coates
says the
company's
main
purpose
is to
help
cultivate
youth's
special
gifts
and
talents.
Established
as a non
profit
in 2010,
Special
Touch
Learning
Center
is a
structured
early
educational
learning
center
for
children.
Because
of the
astonishing
turnout,
organizers
have
decided
to add
an
additional
audition
date;
Saturday,
May 5,
2012.
Here is
a
reminder
of
audition
rules
and
regulations:
Ages
7-17
Pre
register
at:

$35.00
per
person
(fees
apply)
Prepare
presentation
pieces
no
longer
than 3
minutes.
Bring
head
shot and
or photo
profile
including
name,
age,
address
and
phone
Performers
who
advance
will be
trained
by
award-winning
musicians,
vocalist
and
dance
instructors.
Finalist
will be
featured
in media
publications,
videos
and
miscellaneous
promotional
for the
June
23rd
finale
competition
date.
Ultimately,
one
selected
finalist
will
receive
a
scholarship
and
professional
performing/recording
opportunities.
One of
the
professional
opportunities
include,
recording
the song
"Light
Up
Detroit,"
written
and
Produced
by Gerry
Zonca,
Zonca
explains
that the
song
essentially
became a
segway
to the
campaign,
"Light
Up
Detroit,"
which
means
the
spirit,
energy,
and
passion
of all
Detroiter's.
Finalist
will
have the
rare
opportunity
of
taking a
song and
making
it their
own!
