DETROIT
(Tell Us
Det) -
The kick
off
celebration
of
Detroit
Restaurant
Week
began
Wednesday
night at
Cliff
Bell’s
one of
the
première
restaurants
featured
in the
weeklong
event
that
begins
September
23 and
runs
through
October
2nd
A
diverse
crowd of
young
professionals
from all
over the
metro
area
came out
in
search
of a
fine
dining
experience
with an
affordable
price,
which is
exactly
what
Dana
Boyette,
a
representative
for
Detroit
Restaurant
Week,
was
hoping
for: To
shine a
light on
some of
Detroit’s
best
kept
secrets
in fine
dining.

The week
long
food
fest is
a great
event
for
couples
and
friends
like
Michelle
Regner
of
Livonia
& her
friend
Heidi
Muszall
from
Ferndale
who were
making a
list of
restaurants
they
wanted
to try
during
the
week.

Mr.
Boyette
spoke of
the
growth
of the
event
since
its
beginning
in 2009
when it
started
with
only 16
restaurants
all of
which
were
located
in
downtown
Detroit,
but now
the
event
has
grown to
21
restaurants,
including
some in
the
Palmer
Park
area of
Detroit.
A large
part of
the
event’s
success
is the
$28
dollar
price
for a
three
course
dinner
at one
of the
participating
establishments.
Detroiters
Herb and
Danielle
Sanders
said
“Detroit
Restaurant
week is
a
fantastic
opportunity
for
people
in the
metro
area to
come
together
and
learn
what
Detroit
has to
offer.”
