Michigan State Medical Society and MDPAC Endorse Governor Snyder

LANSING – Today, the Michigan State Medical Society and MDPAC, a professional association of more than 15,000 Michigan physicians, announced their endorsement of Governor Rick Snyder in his bid for re-election. The endorsement is only the second of its kind in the nearly 150 year history of the Michigan State Medical Society.

“I am proud to have earned the support of the Michigan State Medical Society and MDPAC as I seek re-election,” said Governor Snyder. “With their support I look forward to continuing on the Road to Recovery and building a stronger Michigan, by building a healthier Michigan.”

Governor Snyder is working everyday to reinvent Michigan. The Governor advocated for the Healthy Michigan plan, an innovative, state-created solution that reflects Michigan’s needs and values. And Healthy Michigan has been incredibly successful. More than 385,000 hardworking Michiganders have already signed up. Now, as we continue to drive down Michigan’s Road to Recovery in these next four years, Michigan will be both stronger and healthier.

In announcing the endorsement, President of the Michigan State Medical Society James D. Grant, M.D. said, “Governor Rick Snyder has been a constant and tireless advocate for Michigan patients and the physician community is proud to endorse him. Whether it’s putting epinephrine in our schools to protect Michigan kids from life threatening allergic reactions, cutting red tape to help patients get the prescriptions they need or his leadership enacting the Healthy Michigan program to provide critical health coverage to hundreds of thousands of Michiganders, the Governor has put patients before politics time after time.”
