The Michigan Roundtable walks for Unity in the Community

Walk2Gether Michigan event on Belle Isle brings people together to show their support for diversity and inclusion

The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion and thousands of citizens are urged to sign up for 2010 Walk2gether Michigan – We are still recruiting individual walkers, walk team captains and sponsors to work together in the fight for unity in the community.

The event will be held Sunday, May 16, 2010, registration beginsat noon, the one and three mile walks begin at 1PM

Walk will begin and end at the Belle Isle Band Shell on Belle Isle across the bridge at East Grand Blvd. and East Jefferson Ave. in Detroit

Walk2gether Michigan is the Michigan Roundtable’s fastest growing fundraiser and brings participants together to demonstrate their support for diversity and inclusion. This year, several thousand walkers will raise money for initiatives to create inclusive, sustainable communities across the region and state by asking their friends, family members, co-workers, and neighbors to sponsor them as they walk. Through walker pledges, corporate sponsorships and matching gifts, the Walk raises essential funds to ensure Michigan Roundtable’s important programming will continue to be available in the community. The Walk will take place rain or shine and the first 1,000 individual walkers who raise $25 or more will be eligible for a Michigan Roundtable Walk2gether T-shirt. Food will be provided by MGM Grand Casino and activities will be planned for participants who are not walking with entertainment for all ages. Participants of all ages are welcome and sponsorships are available.
