– Frank Blackman, of Frank’s Creative Catering of
Detroit, will celebrate the Morning News Café’s First

children. Children living in shelters, low-income

with Santa. The Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday,
December 22, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Morning News

“This is a very important season for children and we
wanted to make their day by cooking breakfast especially
for them. We will serve a full breakfast to include
meat, pancakes and drinks. We want the children to visit
our restaurant, have fun, talk to Santa and walk away
with a photo,” said Blackman.
As evidence in the Café’s walk-in traffic, Blackman, the
president and CEO, has succeeded in meeting the various
tastes preferences of Detroit’s multi-racial
environment. “I’m pleased at the customer base we have
been able to cultivate in just one year, and we our
thankful that we are able to give back during the season
of giving by feeding the children, “Blackman said. The
Morning News Café has supported a number of nonprofit
events this year, including the Winterblast, Kids
Kicking Cancer and many more.
The business professional jump starts their day at the
Morning News Café, a Wi-Fi equipped facility, with a
variety of breakfast items, including omelets and egg
dishes made to order, newspapers, television broadcast
news inside booths where customers can hear about news
from around the world. A coffee room is punctuated with
assorted coffee flavors, espresso and cappuccino
especially for coffee drinkers.
The
Morning News Café lunch menu includes a number of
help-yourself bars: salad (all you can eat), deli,
Philly steak sandwich, New York pizza, cheese
substation, ice cream, hot entrées such as Turkey and
fish. Café hours are 6a.m. to 3p.m Monday through
Friday.
Blackman has also owned and
operated Frank’s Catering for the past decade, and good
food, great taste and customer service are things he
