100 Jobs  Available At Hartford/Comcast Job Fair Saturday February 4

DETROIT - Hartford Memorial Baptist Church will partner with Comcast to offer more than 100 jobs to Detroit area residents. The Job Fair will be held Saturday, February 4 from 10 am – 2 pm at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, located at 18700 James Couzens at 7 Mile Road.

Comcast is hoping to fill more than 100 full time positions for Retention Representatives at their Sterling Heights Customer Retention Call Center. Comcast representatives will be on hand to talk with qualified, interested people, answer questions, and offer more details about the positions. The positions pay $11.75 per hour plus commission and an exceptional benefit package.

The unemployment rate for African Americans has virtually stayed the same according to a recent report from the University of California Berkeley. In January, 2011 the unemployment rate for African Americans was at 15.7 percent, and in December it was at 15.8 percent. “Hartford continues to make a strong commitment to the community we serve, comments Pastor Adams. “Jobs are an important part of that commitment. We are indeed a community of love that reaches far and wide. This important decision to help bring jobs into the community will have a positive impact on the Hartford congregation and the community.”

Comcast is known to be one of the nation’s leading providers of entertainment, information and communications products and services. Retention Representatives handle inbound calls from cable, internet, and voice customers who request service disconnection. Candidates must have a high school diploma, Sales experience, strong computer skills, ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service within problem-solving, troubleshooting environment, Strong multi-tasking skills, written skill and strong oral communications skills.
