Dunkin’ Donuts Makes Donation to Think Detroit PAL
Company’s national initiative to support local PAL
chapter’s summer programs
DETROIT
– Dunkin’ Donuts, the world’s largest coffee and baked goods
chain, announced today it will make a $5,000 donation to
Think Detroit Police Athletic League (Think Detroit PAL) to
further support the organization’s local programs.
Dunkin’ Donuts’ donation will provide funding for Think
Detroit PAL’s programs, including:

The Leaders for Life Camp: Sunday, August 17 to
Friday, August 22, 80 middle school students (ages 11-13)
will engage in an overnight leadership development and life
skills program. The program is a very critical component of
the year-round athletic leagues and other positive after
school activities offered by Think Detroit PAL.

through athletic, academic and leadership development
programs,” said Nick Spencer, marketing manager, Dunkin’

Detroit PAL and their summer programs in celebration of
those who serve others in our communities.”

Nationally, Dunkin’ Donuts is donating $80,000 to the
National Police Athletic League’s Youth Leadership Program.
The National Police Athletic League has more than 80,000
volunteers and 370 chapters in the United States and is
dedicated to serving disadvantaged youth in communities
across the country. A new Youth Leadership Program,
underwritten by the Department of Justice, is being deployed
this year to create a grassroots leadership and community
service platform for disadvantaged youth. Dunkin’ Donuts’
$80,000 donation, facilitated by the Dunkin’ Brands
Community Foundation, will support the Youth Leadership
Program in 16 markets, including Detroit. The donation is
part of Dunkin’ Donuts and the Dunkin’ Brands Community
Foundation’s ongoing mission to serve those who serve in our
communities, especially in times of crisis.

About Think Detroit PAL
Think Detroit PAL is the premier and largest
developmentally-focused youth sports organization in the
City of Detroit. In 2006, the organization was a
semi-finalist in the DTE Foundation’s Achieving Excellence
Awards Program – Sustainability Category. Last year, Think
Detroit PAL was recognized by Charter One as a “Champions in
Action” for being a model youth development program in
southeast Michigan. This year, Think Detroit PAL is a
