Tennis Camp opens for Detroit kids this Friday and Saturday, August 22-23

DETROIT, MI (Tell Us Det) - The inaugural sessions of the Metro Detroit Excellence Tennis camp are to be held for two days on Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23, at the Barcus Tennis Facility, Farwell Field, 2655 E. Outer Drive, Detroit.

This Camp has been a vision of founder/director Charles Beckham for many years as he has provided tennis activities for Detroit's youth through the program, 'Tennis for Kids', a not-for-profit organization created some years ago.

This two day Camp will provide a showcase for young tennis players who represent the
top USTA nationally and locally ranked juniors in metro Detroit.

Beckham said, "I know you are proud of them as I am - lets let other junior players, supporters and potential sponsors discover what we know - that metro Detroit is home to some of the top African American junior tennis players/scholars in the country!"

The Camp next week will be under the head instruction of USPTA Certified Instructor, Dennis
Royal, assisted by other local, well known professionals; the format will consist of two days of
drills, instructive matches and some match play.

Camp will begin sharply at 10 am, Friday, August 22; more details will be forthcoming. The Camp will be open to the public and partisipating players will receive a CO of the Camp activities.
