12th Annual Paul W. Smith Golf Classic to benefit Detroit PAL on August 10

• This year’s event is scheduled for August 10, 2015 at the Detroit Golf Club
• The Paul W. Smith Golf Classic is the largest fundraiser for Detroit PAL and has raised over $4.5M net to date
• Proceeds from the event support programming for 12,000 PAL participants annually

DETROIT, MI - The 12th Annual Paul W. Smith Golf Classic, a summer showcase of corporate and community support for Detroit youth, takes place on August 10, 2015 at the Detroit Golf Club.

The event, which has raised more than $4.5M net to date, is considered one of the most successful of its kind in Michigan. The Paul W. Smith Golf Classic is the largest fundraiser for Detroit PAL with funds raised supporting a variety of programs and accounting for nearly 20% of its operating income.

Since the event's inception in 2004, Detroit PAL has increased the number of youth it has been able to serve annually from 8,000 to more than 12,000 and increased the number of girls participating.

The success of the event and the amount of funding it provides Detroit PAL is due to the generosity of the sponsors. Returning in 2015 is the Title Sponsor News/Talk 760 WJR.
