For the
second
year
running,
the Mass
Media
Communications
Program
at
Golightly
Career
and
Technical
Center
takes
the
distinguished
honor of
“2012
High
School
Radio
Station/Program
of the
Year” by
the
Michigan
Association
of
Broadcasters
Foundation
(MABF).
The
Golightly
Mass
Media
Program
became
eligible
for the
title
when its
students
picked
up 11
awards
in the
2012
Michigan
High
School
and
College
Broadcast
Awards
Competition
in
various
radio
categories.
This is
the
third
Golden
“Radio
Station/Program
of the
Year”
Record
for
Golightly
CTC; who
has
previously
won in
2011 and
2000.
In
addition
to these
accolades,
MABF
awarded
Mass
Media
student
Alaina
Davis
with a
$750.00
High
School
Broadcast
Scholarship.
She will
attend
Wayne
State
University
in the
fall
where
she will
study
Broadcast
Journalism
and
Theater
Arts.
Broadcast
veteran
Dana
Hughes
is the
Mass
Media
Program
Manager
at
Golightly
Career
and
Technical
Center.
10th-12th
grade
students
from
various
local
high
schools
comprise
the Mass
Media
Program
where
they
learn
all
components
of radio
broadcasting,
audio
production,
television
broadcasting,
and
video
production.
The Mass
Media
Program
is
currently
enrolling
new High
School
students
for the
fall
2012-2013
school
year!
