Emerging 200 Initiative to Kick Off in Detroit on January 14th

Detroit Selected as One of Fifteen Cities Nationwide to Offer the Jobs and Growth
Stimulation Effort Targeted to Promising Inner-city Small Businesses


The U.S. Small Business Administration will formally announce the launch of its Emerging 200 Initiative (e200) in Detroit. Approximately 20 companies from Detroit will be a part of e200. The January 14th kick off event is designed to provide the public and the media with more information about e200, how businesses can apply to be a part of it, and what the initiative will be working to achieve in Detroit and the state of Michigan.

The Detroit e200 effort is a collaborative one. Joining SBA in bringing e200 to Michigan are:

• Tammy J. Carnrike, Chief Operating Officer, Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce
• Richard Temkin, SBA Michigan District Director

Representatives from the other e200 sponsor organizations will also speak
