CITY OF DETROIT PARKING VIOLATIONS BUREAU EXPANDS
ENFORCEMENT TO INCLUDE EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS
The
City of Detroit Parking Violations Bureau will expand
parking enforcement for the 2007 Detroit Belle Isle
Grand Prix. Enforcement will include evenings and
weekends beginning Friday, Aug. 31 through Sunday, Sept.
2.
Municipal Parking Department officials say the expanded
enforcement of parking regulations will increase service
to the public by maintaining public safety and reducing
traffic congestion through rigorous enforcement of the
parking violations during the holiday weekend event.
These violations include but are not limited to the
following:
� No Parking in Prohibited Areas (Park in no parking
zones)
� Improper Parking (Park within 30 feet of stop sign or
yield sign; park within 15 feet of intersection; park on
sidewalk; park within 20 feet of driveway entrance or
angle parking)
� Alley Violation (Park in public alley)
� Driveway Violation (Park within 5 feet of driveway)
� Crosswalk Violation (Park within 20 feet of a
crosswalk)
� Double Parking (Park on street side of vehicle that is
parked, standing or stopped)
� Double Stand (Stand on street side of vehicle that is
parked, standing or stopped)
� Fire Hydrant Violation (Park within 15 feet of fire
hydrant)
� No Standing Any Time (Stand or park in no standing
zone)

� Coach Stop Violation (Stop in a bus stop � Interfere
with a bus)
� Handicapped Violation (Park in a handicap space)
� No Stopping (Park [stand or stop] in a no stopping
zone)

zones
The Parking Violations Bureau will target areas in the
Central Business District, Foxtown District, Belle Isle
and surrounding areas.
