2ND ANNUAL HOME OWNERSHIP PRESERVATION & FORECLOSURE
SEMINAR TO BE HOSTED BY MAYOR KWAME M. KILPATRICK & DETROIT
HOPE
DETROIT�The
2nd Annual Detroit Homeownership Preservation and
Foreclosure Seminar will take place on Wednesday, June 25
from 1:00 � 8:00 p.m. at the Northwest Activities Center,
18100 Meyers Rd. in Detroit. Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick and
the Detroit Home Ownership Preservation Enterprise (Detroit
HOPE) have once again partnered to host this event.
�In these tough economic times, it is important to provide
resources to citizens in need,� said Mayor Kilpatrick. �Last
year�s seminar helped so many people, and with the mortgage
crisis continuing to hold our neighborhoods
hostage, we wanted to hold another so we can assist those
who are still struggling.�
Individuals attending the Seminar will be able to meet
one-on-one with lenders and non-profit organizations that
will guide them through the loss mitigation process.
Participants should bring: 1.) Mortgage information, 2.)
Verification of income, and 3.) A brief letter of hardship
for prompt service. Those planning to attend are asked to

Vendors scheduled to attend include: Washington Mutual,
Chase, Homecomings Financial, Charter One, Litton Loans,
Countrywide Financial, Freddie Mac, Orlans & Associates,
Habitat for Humanity, United Way of SE Michigan, Southwest
Housing Solutions, and U-SNAP BAC.
Mayor Kilpatrick partnered with Detroit HOPE last year to
host a homeownership Preservation & Foreclosure Seminar at
Wayne County Community College where 1,500 people attended.
Since then, the Kilpatrick Administration has held several
smaller seminars and Mayor Kilpatrick has taken a leadership
role with the United State Conference of Mayors to help
address the foreclosure issue locally as well as nationally.

Detroit-HOPE is a partnership of nonprofit housing
organizations, mortgage lenders and law firms created in
cooperation with the City of Detroit. This locally focused
program, similar to those in Chicago, Dallas and
Philadelphia, has developed several initiatives to address
the growing incidence of residential foreclosures in the
