2ND ANNUAL HOME OWNERSHIP PRESERVATION & FORECLOSURE SEMINAR TO BE HOSTED BY MAYOR KWAME M. KILPATRICK & DETROIT HOPE

DETROITThe 2nd Annual Detroit Homeownership Preservation and Foreclosure Seminar will take place on Wednesday, June 25 from 1:00 8:00 p.m. at the Northwest Activities Center, 18100 Meyers Rd. in Detroit. In these tough economic times, it is important to provide resources to citizens in need, said Mayor Kilpatrick. Last years seminar helped so many people, and with the mortgage crisis continuing to hold our neighborhoods hostage, we wanted to hold another so we can assist those who are still struggling.

Individuals attending the Seminar will be able to meet one-on-one with lenders and non-profit organizations that will guide them through the loss mitigation process. Participants should bring: 1.) Mortgage information, 2.) Verification of income, and 3.) A brief letter of hardship for prompt service. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by calling 313-640-1100 ext. 12.

Detroit-HOPE is a partnership of nonprofit housing organizations, mortgage lenders and law firms created in cooperation with the City of Detroit. This locally focused program, similar to those in Chicago, Dallas and Philadelphia, has developed several initiatives to address the growing incidence of residential foreclosures in the Detroit area.
