DDOT OFFERS EXTRA BUS SERVICE FOR FIREWORKS DISPLAY

The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) will add extra bus service to several routes for the Target Fireworks on Monday, June 23. The inbound extra service is being provided to Detroit-area residents in an effort to save gas, ease congestion and provide parking-relief savings between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. The routes are:

#10 Chene
#16 Dexter
#18 Fenkell
#19 Fort
#21 Grand River
#23 Hamilton
#25 Jefferson
#27 Joy Road
#29 Linwood
#31 Mack
#34 Gratiot
#37 Michigan
#48 Van Dyke
#53 Woodward

As a result of some street closures during this annual event, passengers who travel on many bus routes going into downtown Detroit will experience service reroutes. Reroutes will begin at 6 p.m. on the following bus lines:

#07 Cadillac Harper
Inbound: Regular to right (north) on Randolph to left (west) on Cadillac Square and layover on Cadillac Square between Bates and Monroe
Outbound: Cadillac Square to right (east) on Monroe to right (south) on Randolph to left (east) on Larned to regular

#10 Chene
Inbound: Regular to left (south) on Randolph to right (west) on Cadillac Square and layover on Cadillac Square between Bates and Monroe
Outbound: Cadillac Square to right (east) on Monroe to right (south) on Randolph to left (east) on Fort to regular

#16 Dexter, #18 Fenkell & #23 Hamilton
Inbound: Regular to right (west) on State to left (south) on Griswold and layover on Griswold between State and Michigan (Capitol Park area).
Outbound: Griswold to right (west) on Michigan to right (north) on Washington Blvd. to right (east) on Grand River to left (north) on Woodward to regular

#25 E. Jefferson
Inbound: Regular to right (north) on Randolph to left (west) on Cadillac Square and layover between Bates and Monroe
Outbound: Cadillac Square to right (east) on Monroe to right (south) on Randolph to left (east) on Larned to right (south) on Beaubien to left (east) on Jefferson to regular

# 34 Gratiot & #40 Russell
Inbound: Regular to left (south) on Randolph to right (west) on Cadillac Square to right (east) on Monroe and layover on Monroe at Farmer
Outbound: East on Monroe to left (north) on Randolph to regular

#48 Van Dyke
Inbound: Regular to left (south) on Randolph to right (west) on Cadillac Square to right (east) on Monroe and layover on Monroe at Farmer
Outbound: East on Monroe to right (south) on Randolph to left (east) on Lafayette to regular

#53 Woodward
Inbound: Regular to right (west) on State to left (south) on Griswold and layover on Griswold at Michigan (Capitol Park area)
Outbound: Griswold to right (west) on Michigan to right (north) on Washington Blvd. to right east on Grand River to left north on Woodward to regular
