Worthy

D'andre
Louis
Lane,

Detroit,
with the
homicide
of his
two-year-old
daughter
Bianca
Jones.
At 9:45
a.m. on
December
2, 2012,
Lane
reported
that he
was
allegedly
at a
location
of Brush
and
Grand
River
when he
was
forced
from his
car at
gunpoint
by two
men who
then
drove it
away
with his
infant
child
Bianca
in the
rear
passenger
portion
of the
vehicle.
Within
40
minutes
of
Lane's
report,
the car
was
discovered
without
the
child.
Bianca
Jones
has not
been
seen
since
December
2, 2011.
An
investigation
of this
case was
conducted
by the
Detroit
Police
Department,
assisted
by the
Michigan
State
Police,
the
Federal
Bureau
of
Investigation
and
Wayne
County
Prosecutor’s
Office
Criminal
Investigations
Division.
Lane’s
allegations
of
carjacking
and
child
abduction
were
proven
to be
inconsistent
with the
facts.
During
the
investigation
it was
revealed
that
Bianca
Jones
was
subjected
to abuse
on the
day of
her
disappearance.
A
warrant
request
was
presented
to the
Wayne
County
Prosecutor's
Office
on
December
13,
2011. On
March
12,
2012,
the
extensive
warrant
review
process
was
completed.
The
facts
and
evidence
in the
case
will be
introduced
in court
at the
time of
the
preliminary
examination.
Lane has
been
charged
with
Felony
Murder
(Mandatory
Life in
Prison
without
Parole)
and
Child
Abuse
First
Degree
(15
years).
"An
entire
region
worried,
waited,
and
willed
Bianca's
safe
return.
The
facts in
this
case
will
show
that she
is never
coming
home. We
are
alleging
in this
case
that Mr.
Lane
killed
his own
daughter,"
said
Prosecutor
Worthy.
"Fathers
killing
daughters
is rare.
It is
hard to
protect
loved
ones
when the
murderer
is
family."
Lane is
expected
to be
arraigned
Thursday,
March
15, 2012
in 36th
District
Court at
1:00
