"As I am
sure you
are all
aware,
cases of
this
magnitude
don't
happen
in the
City of
Hamtramck
and we
are all
saddened
that
this
occurred
and
deeply
sympathize
with the
families.
However,
with
that
said, I
am
pleased
with the
progression
of our
investigation
and the
immense
amount
of
assistance
we have
received
from our
law
enforcement
partners
including
Detroit,
specifically
their
Headquarters
Surveillance
Unit, as
well as
the
Michigan
State
Police,
the US
Marshal
Service,
and of
course
the
Wayne
County
Prosecutors'
Office,"
said
Hamtramck
Police
Chief
Maxwell
Garbarino.
"This
case
represents
many of
our
fears
when it
comes to
vital
witnesses
in a
case.
These
women
were
heroic;
they
refused
to
relent
and let
these
defendants
deter
them
from
continuing
on with
their
previous
case,
and they
paid
with
their
lives,"
said
Prosecutor
Worthy.
"The
alleged
conduct
of these
defendants
is
beyond
reprehensible
and
illustrates
clearly
why more
focused
attention
and
resources
must go
into
witness
protection."
“Anytime
innocent
lives
are
taken
due to
the acts
of
persons,
it
becomes
our
responsibility
to
gather
the
evidence
to track
down
these
individuals,
stated
Chief
Ralph L.
Godbee,
Jr.
“This
exceptional
collaboration
amongst
members
of the
Detroit
Police,
Hamtramck,
Southfield
Departments,
Michigan
State
Police,
the
Wayne
County
Prosecutor’s
Office
and
citizens
just
shows
how
teamwork
can be
extremely
effective
in
apprehending
wanted
persons
and
bringing
them to
justice.”
Assistant
Prosecuting
Attorneys
Molly
Kettler
and
Teana
Walsh
will
handle
the
prosecution
of the
cases.
Jeremy
Brown
and
Reginald
Brown
were
expected
to be
video
arraigned
this
weekend
in 34th
District
Court in
Romulus.

Rodriguez,
