"Halloween Happenings" at the Detroit Children's Museum
September
14, 2007 -- Detroit -- Kids age 4 and older are invited
to join in some pre-Halloween fun while learning how to
stay safe, in this season of all things scary, at the
Detroit Children's Museum; 12 noon until 2 p.m.;
Saturday, October 13, 2007.
"Ghastly Games" is first on the program where your
imagination is the only requirement for these spirited
activities; followed by "Halloween Safety Tips,"
featuring guest presenters from the Detroit Police
Department, Police Community Services division.
Children, parents and caregivers are in for a real treat
as officers discuss curfew laws, stranger dangers; and
more in a fun and entertaining way. The afternoon ends
with assorted "Creepy Crafts" at make and take stations.
Kids will create Monster Masks, Little Goblin Treat
Bags, and other Halloween things.
Also scheduled is the monthly planetarium show with
Carrie Zaitcz. Kids age 4 and older, and their adult
chaperones will enjoy learning about the "Autumn
Constellations" at an 11 a.m. presentation.
Reservations are required for limited seating.
Admission for the full program is $5. per child for
non-members, and $3. per child for members.
Pre-registration is required for all programs and

The new Children's Museum is located near the New Center
area at 6134 Second Avenue, between Amsterdam and
Burroughs. Look for "Silverbolt,"
the auto bumper horse, on the front lawn! Museum hours
are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and
10:00 a.m. until 4 p.m., the second Saturday of each
month from October through May. General admission to the
Museum is free on Second Saturdays.
