CITY OF DETROIT HOLDING ANGELS' NIGHT POSTER AND
ORATORICAL CONTEST FOR DETROIT STUDENTS
If
you are full of creative ideas, have an artistic flair
or a way with words, and care about the city of Detroit,
you could win a new iPod, digital camera, or gift
certificate. The City of Detroit is sponsoring the 2007
Angels Night Poster and Oratorical Contest for Detroit
students from both public and private schools.
The contest is an opportunity for students to express
their feelings about Detroit and to share their pride in
the Citys Angels' Night volunteer effort. Students are
to create their poster or oratorical (rap, speech, or
poem) entry based on one of the following themes:
"Remain Ever Watchful This Angels' Night"
"Detroit: Yours, Mine, Ours"
"Celebrate Safety This Angels' Night"
The posters will be judged on the following criteria:
originality, neatness, use of color, clarity of message,
and creativity.
The oratorical entries will be judged on the following
criteria:
Did the presentation focus on one of the contest
themes?
Was the presentation original and creative?
Did the presentation hold the audience's attention?
Did the presentation have a logical conclusion?
Did the speaker clearly pronounce his/her words and
make eye contact with the audience?
Contest rules and official entry forms have been
distributed to all Detroit schools, recreation centers,
and Neighborhood City Hall offices. The contest rules
