PEOPLE MOVER EXTENDS HOURS FOR FIREWORKS
System offers fast, direct access to Hart Plaza,
Riverfront with later hours
The
Detroit Transportation Corporation announced that
service for the Detroit People Mover (DPM) is extended
for the 2006 Target Freedom Festival Fireworks on
Wednesday, June 28 until 1:30 a.m. Trains arrive
approximately every three minutes. All 13 People Mover
Stations are open for operation, with Financial
District, Cobo Center, Millender and Renaissance Center
all within short walking distance to Hart Plaza. This
year�s fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 10:06
p.m.

In the event of rain on Wednesday, the People Mover will
operate until 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, the rain
date for the fireworks, if necessary.
Any combination of U.S. nickels, dimes and quarters or
one DPM token may be used for entry. Tokens are
available in all DPM stations. Children five and under
ride free. The DPM is accessible to elderly and disabled
persons, with the exception of Grand Circus Park Station
(stairway access only). For the safety of all customers
and to prevent long delays in service, patrons should
not block or hold open doors.
