Centers

Double
as FEMA
Flood
Aid
Assistance
Locations
DETROIT,
MI - The
City of
Detroit
has
partnered
with
Federal
Emergency
Management
Administration
(FEMA)
to
provide
flooding
disaster
information
and
assistance
at all
five
volunteer
deployment
centers
during
this
year’s
Angels’
Night
campaign.
Angels’
Night
volunteers
and
other
members
of the
public
can have
face-to-face
dialogue
with
FEMA
representatives
regarding
the
August
11-13
flood
disaster
and
apply
for
financial
assistance
from
5:30
p.m. –
7:30
p.m.,
October
29-31,
at five
Angels’
Night
deployment
locations.
"We want
to make
sure
that
every
Detroit
resident
who is
eligible
for
financial
aid to
help
recover
from
flooding
damage
receives
the
assistance
they are
entitled
to,"
Mayor
Mike
Duggan
said.
"FEMA
has been
a great
partner
in this
process,
and we
appreciate
its
effort
to be as
available
as
possible
to our
residents."
To date,
FEMA has
distributed
more
than $50
million
to the
more
than
50,000
Detroit
residents
who have
applied
for
flood
disaster
aid. The
Angels’
Night

to apply
for FEMA
assistance
is
November
24,

Background:
Angels’
Night is
a
citywide
initiative,
which
drives
volunteerism
by metro
Detroiters
to
assist
with
fire
suppression
by
patrolling
city
streets,
turning
on a
porch
light,
or
watching
a vacant
property
throughout
the
Angels’
Night
period
of
October
29-31.
