unveils
six new
varieties
of
freshly
popped
popcorn

Marketplace
- the
premier
metro
Detroit
gourmet
grocer –
today
formally
unveiled
its new
popcorn
line
available
in six
flavors.
Each bag
is
freshly
popped
to order
at its
Troy and
Clinton
Township
stores
and is
genetically
modified
organism
(GMO)
free.
The
freshly
popped
corn
will
also be
available
at the
company’s
St.
Clair
Shores
shop by
mid-October.
The
six
flavors,
created
and
perfected
by Chef
Pete
Loren
and his
culinary
team
are:

perfect

meets
salty

Caramel
Corn –
The
caramel
taste
you

made
with
real
butter
More
flavors
are
being
perfected
in
Nino’s
test
kitchen
and
expected
to be
unveiled
in the
months
ahead.
The
vintage
inspired
gourmet
popping
station,
manned
by
specially
trained
staff is
already
a
success.

customers
walk in
the
store.
People
make an
automatic
beeline
toward
the
popcorn
station,”
Loren
said.
“Our new
gourmet
popcorn
is
selling
as fast
we pop
it.”

Nino’s
President.

the
year,
we’ve
watched
our
popcorn
sales
increase
by
double-digits.
There’s

Americans
consume
16
billion
quarts
of
popped
popcorn
annually
or 51
quarts
per
person,
according
to the
Popcorn
Board.
Also,
the
National
Association
for the
Specialty
Food
Trade
lists
gourmet
popcorn
as one
of the
top food
trends.
Popcorn
is a
whole
grain
food
that is
high in
fiber,
low in
calories
and
contains
magnesium,
potassium,
iron,
calcium
and
zinc.
Nino’s
freshly
popped
corn is
available
in two
quart or
two
gallon
sizes.
Prices
