House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Visits Metro Detroit
House
Speaker Nancy Pelosi will join Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks
Kilpatrick at two town hall meetings in Grosse Pointe Farms
and Wyandotte Friday, July 25.
Speaker Pelosi and Congresswoman Kilpatrick will make
appearances at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial in Grosse
Pointe Farms, 32 Lake Shore Road, at 10:30 a.m., followed by
a visit to the Downriver Italian-American Hall, 646 Biddle
Avenue in Wyandotte at noon. Both events are open to the
public.
Speaker Pelosi will be here to support the re-election of
Congresswoman Kilpatrick in the Aug. 5 primary. Congressman
Kilpatrick is the only Michigan Democrat on the House
Appropriations Committee.
“Congresswoman Kilpatrick is a strong and effective voice
for Michigan’s working families, and a dedicated and
thoughtful advocate on issues critical to all Americans,”
said Pelosi. “As we continue to fight to create good-paying
jobs, reduce the cost of health care, improve the education
of America’s children, we need Congresswoman Kilpatrick’s
proven leadership in Washington now more than ever.”
The two Congressional leaders will discuss the economy, oil
and gas prices, homeland security and jobs.
Congresswoman Kilpatrick is in her sixth term serving
Michigan’s 13th Congressional District.
